In just 4 months of working with Karin I went from thinking about myself as “just an employee” to thinking about myself as a full person.  This enabled me to understand that for me, success is multi-dimensional and can't only be achieved in one part of my life -- I need to achieve it across work, family, personal impact, etc.  I learned that asking for what I want is a crucial part of the journey towards satisfaction and meaningful impact.  The answer does not have to be yes, but the process of asking is crucial.  One of the most valuable practices I emerged with was to maintain a list of things I want that I am not asking for and try to understand (a) why I am not asking for them, (b) when I want to ask for them and (c) ask that people close to me in my life hold me accountable to ask for them.

Karin helped me think through ways to be more intentional in navigating a role transition and integrating into a new team.  I can tap into these strategies in many related situations and new transitions ahead.  She also shared some creative ways to think more deeply about my "true north" and reconnect with what's meaningful and important to me.  Karin leads with deep empathy and humanity. She made me feel heard by playing back what I said and with drawing meaningful connections and patterns to themes that cut across multiple sessions. I felt very supported and understood -- which created a safe space to experiment with new behaviors and strategies.

Karin helped me improve my executive presence - I emerged from our 6 months of work with a new mindset, a revised approach to key communications including changes to body language and message structure as well as an increased ability to understand how the audience is perceiving me.  Karin also helped me develop a toolkit I can use to improve the outcomes of crucial conversations - including strategies for specific actions I can take before, during and after these dialogues.

​Over the span of our work together, Karin nudged me to create multiple simple experiments to improve my time management and prioritization skills.  A number of proven techniques are now incorporated into the way I work -- for example, setting up a to do list in the “urgent v important” methodology, and ring fencing evening work with defined time, activities and environment.  Karin was extremely diligent, flexible and understanding and she struck a great balance between casual discussion at the start of our sessions and also the right amount of structure to be clear about my objectives and outcomes for each session.
